Rossini Opera Festival Announces 2023 Operas

The Rossini Opera Festival has announced the operas for the 2023 season.

For the 44 edition, the festival will present a critical edition of “Eduardo e Cristina” conducted by Jader Bignamini and directed by Stefano Poda.

There will also be a new production of “Adelaide di Borgogna” conducted by Francesco Lanzillotta and directced by  Arnaud Bernard and a revival of “Aureliano in Palmira” in a 2014 production by Mario Martone. The work will be conducted by George Petrou.

Additionally, the festival will present “Petite messe solennelle ” conducted by Michele Mariotti.

The news comes as the 43rd festival is set to open with productions of “Le Comte Ory,” “Otello” and “La Gazzetta.” The Rossini Opera Festival opens on August 9, 2022 and runs through August 21, 2022.
