Music of Remembrance is set to present “Echoes of Conscience” on March 15.
The concert will feature mezzo-soprano Rosamund Dyer with the Music of Remembrance Ensemble. As part of the concert, “Echoes of Conscience: Voices of the French resistance” Dyer will perform songs by Paul Arma, Georges Auric, and Francis Poulenc.
The concert highlights classical and jazz traditions shaped by artists who created under political pressure. The evening also features world premiere choreography by Donald Byrd.
“Creative courage is not just political – it’s deeply moral,” said Music of Remembrance’s Artistic Director Mina Miller in a press release. “This program came together in real time, shaped by the world we’re living in now. As artists ask hard questions about responsibility, silence, and action, this concert invites audiences to sit with those questions and consider how art emboldens response.”
The concert will be held at the Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall at Benaroya Hall in Seattle.
