Rosa Feola, Riccardo Muti, Anna Prohaska Headline Ravenna Festival’s 2020 Season

The Ravenna Festival in Italy has announced its program for the 2020 festival.
For the purposes of this article, we will be focused solely on vocal performances.
The season kicks off with Riccardo Muti leading a concert starring Rosa Feola in music by Mozart.
Performance Date: June 21, 2020
Soprano Pamela Lucciarini and Ensemble Recitarcantando will perform “O Gloria Domina.”
Performance Date: June 21, 2020
The Accademia Bizantina will lead a performance of Handel’s “Il Trionfo del tempo e del disinganno” with such singers as Emmanuelle de Negri, Monica Piccinini, Delphine Galou, and Anicio Zorzi Giustiniani.
Performance Date: June 24, 2020
Anna Prohaska will perform Britten’s “Les Illuminations” in concert with conductor Iván Fischer. The performance will also feature music by Wagner and Haydn.
Performance Date: July 1, 2020
Consuelo Battiston, Tamara Balducci, Leonardo Bianconi, Federica Garavaglia, and Mauro Milone will perform Menoventi’s “Bunoa Permanenza al Mondo” under the director of Gianni Farina.
Performance Date: July 6, 2020
Soprano Graciela Gibelli and baritone Fulvio Bettini will team up with Il Suonar Parlante Ensemble to perform “La peste di Amburgo.”
Performance Date: July 7, 2020
Sergio Castelitto and Isabella Ferrari will be presenting Valerio Cappelli’s “Ci sono giorni che non accadono mai,” a work about love in the time of COVID. The world premiere performance features music of Ennio Morricone and will be directed by Sergio Castellitto.

Countertenor Carlo Vistoli performs music by Monteverdi, Laurenzi, Ferrari, and Cavalli alongside the Ensemble Sezione Aurea.
Performance Date: July 10, 2020
Camila Lopez and Matteo Ramon Arevalos perform fragments of ancient Greek music.
Performance: July 13, 2020
Antonio Greco will conduct a production of “Don Giovanni” directed by Luca Micheletti.
Performance Date: Nov. 1-14, 2020
Conductor Hossein Pishkar will lead a production of Gounod’s “Faust.” Luca Micheletti will direct.
Performance Date: Nov. 12-15, 2020
