Salle Cortot’s May 2025 Slate to Feature Nadège Meden, Olga Syniakova, Paul-Louis Barlet, Yolisa Ngwexana, Hugo Tranchant

Salle Cortot has announced its May 2025 slate. Here is a roundup of the vocal performances on offer.

First up is “Vous Avez di Reynaldo Hahn?” The program features several of the Venezuelan-born composer’s “Mélodies” as well as sections from his operetta “O mon Bel Inconu” and “Ciboulette.” Also on the program are sections from Puccini and Leoncavallo’s “La Bohème.” Performers include Watanabe Honoka, Jang Jiayuan, Quiao Ying, Tang Pengjun, Okazaki Miho, Anqi Tang, Mariam Lompo, Yuria Izaki, Peng Ming Yang, Yiru Xu, Zhou Xuan, Kono Shoya.

Performance Dates: May 9, 2025


There will be a “Gala Lyrique” featuring music by Gounod, Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, Puccini, Händel, Strauss, Offenbach, Donizetti, Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saëns, and Liszt, among others. Performers include mezzo-soprano Olga Syniakova, soprano Nadège Meden, soprano Lise Nougier, mezzo-soprano Juliette Gauthier, baritone Paul-Louis Barlet, tenor Hugo Tranchant, and pianists Denis Dubois, Soraya Verdier, and Cyrprien Katsaris. Bertrand Périer is the master of ceremonies.

Then comes a concert spotlighting “Les Grands Voix d’Opéra d’Afrique” with soprano Yolisa Ngwexana, soprano Milan McCray, bass Kofi Hayford, and pianist Thomas Tacquet. The program includes music by Rossini, Bellini, Verdi, Donizetti, Mozart, Thacker, Margaret Bonds, Gershwin, and Coleridge-Taylor, among others
