Roberto Alagna & Aleksandra Kurzak To Perform for Metropolitan Opera’s ‘Live in Concert’ Series

Roberto Alagna and Aleksandra Kurzak continue the Metropolitan Opera’s “Met Stars Live in Concert” series on August 16, 2020.

The event, which will begin at 1:30 p.m. ET, will feature the duo live outdoors from the Château de la Chèvre d’Or, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, in Èze, France.

The program, which will feature the Vienna Morphing Quintet, will include arias and duets from Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly,” Verdi’s “Otello,” and Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’Amore,” among others popular works. Alagna and Kurzak will be the first duo of several to come in the concert series.

The concert will be available on-demand through Wednesday, August 27.

Alagna and Kurzak’s performance marks the third performance in the concert series and will be followed by Lise Davidsen, Joyce DiDonato, and Sondra Radvanovsky and Piotr Beczala, among many others. Davidsen will appear from Oslo on August 29 DiDonato will appear from Barcelona, Spain on Sept. 12. Radvanovsky and Beczala will also appear on Sept. 26 from Barcelona, Spain

Christine Goerke hosts the performances with Gary Halvorson, the Met’s award-winning director of the company’s Live in HD cinema transmissions, directing.
