
Los Angeles Opera Adds Performance of ‘Carmen’ Production, Starring Rihab Chaieb
By David SalazarLA Opera has added a seventh performance of Bizet’s “Carmen” on Oct. 27, following high demand for the production’s original run.
Per an official press release, “Carmen” has become the company’s most in demand production of the season. The added date joins the previously scheduled performances of Oct. 17 and Nov. 1.
The famed opera stars Rihab Chaieb in the title role alongside Joshua Guerrero as Don José, Kathleen O’Mara as Micaëla, and Liam James Karai as Escamillo. Other cast members include Vinícius Costa, Ryan Wolfe, Gabrielle Turgeon, Katie Trigg, Samuel Wallace, and Mario Manzo.
Domingo Hindoyan conducts a production by Thaddeus Strassberger.
