Silkroad announces dates for the second tour of its multi-year American Railroad initiative, conceived by Artistic Director Rhiannon Giddens.

Stops on the tour will include concerts, pre-performance talks, community and educational activities, masterclasses, and a Q&A. In addition to the tour, Silkroad’s American Railroad will include releases of an album and a podcast in 2024.

The ensemble’s first stop is in Chicago, IL at the Harris Theater.

The University Musical Society in Ann Arbor, MI presents the next concert.

Up next is the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, TN

The City of Rogers Parks and Recreation presents the events in Rogers, AR.

The ensemble’s next stop is at the Peace Center in Greenville, SC.

Performance Date: November 14, 2024

The Schwartz Center for Performing Arts at Emory University in Atlanta, GA hosts the group’s residency.

Performance Dates: November 15 & 16, 2024

The University of Georgia Performing Arts Center in Athens is the next stop on the tour.

Performance Date: November 17, 2024

The ensemble travels to Charleston, SC next.

Performance Date: November 19, 2024

Giddens’ hometown of Chapel Hill, NC host this concert, as well as a Q&A and open rehearsal for students in UNC’s “Worker in American Life” course.

Performance Date: November 20, 2024

In part of Next Wave 2024, the ensemble will perform at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s (BAM) Howard Gilman Opera House.
