Randall Shannon to Step Down from Wexford Festival Opera

The Board of Wexford Festival Trust has announced Randall Shannon’s term as Executive Director of Wexford Festival Opera will end when his contract finishes on Feb. 14, 2025.

The Chair of the Board Paul Cleary announced the news and extended his gratitude to Shannon for his commitment to the festival over the past four years.

During his four years with the festival, Shannon helped shape the Festival’s vision and enhanced the relationship with the Arts Council, the Department of Culture and the office of Public Works. He also supported new partnerships and developed the WFO Community Engagement and Participation Programme.

Loughlin Deegan will join Wexford Festival Opera in the role of Interim Executive Director from mid-February until December 2025 and will work alongside Artistic Director Rosetta Cucchi to deliver Wexford Festival Opera 2025.

The board also announced that it will begin searching for a full-time Executive Director for the Wexford Festival Opera.

The 74th Wexford Festival Opera is set to open on Oct. 17 and run through Nov. 1, 2025.
