Wexford Festival Opera Announces 2024 Slate

The Wexford Festival Opera has announced its 2024 season which will feature 80 events across 16 days. It kicks off on Oct. 18, 2024, and runs through Nov. 2, 2024.

Here is a rundown of the operas to be performed.

First up is Mascagni’s “Le Maschere.” Francesco Cilluffo conducts and Stefano Ricci directs.

Charles Villiers Stanford’s “The Critic” will be conducted by Ciaran McAuley and directed by Conor Hanratty.

Danila Grassi will conduct Donizetti’s “Le convenienze e inconvenienze teatrali.” Orpha Phelan directs.

The Wexford Factory Opera will present “I Pagliacci.” Stefania Panighini directs.

Performance Dates: TBA

The community opera will be “L’Elisir d’Amore.”

Performance Dates: TBA

Niall William Morris will produce the newly commissioned “Puccini: Man of the Theatre.”

The company will present “Lady Gregory in America” by Colm Tóibín and Alberto Caruso.

There will be a series of Pocket Operas.

Performance Dates: TBA

There will also be collaborations with primary and secondary school students including “Circus & Opera” and “Wings to Fly.”
