Quartetto Prometeo Debuts at Festival Verdi

By Francisco Salazar

The Quartetto Prometeo is set to debut at the Festival Verdi on Oct. 3, 2020 at the Teatro Regio di Parma.

The Quartet will play the renown Verdi Quartet and Beethoven’s Quartet No. 14. The concert will also include transcriptions from Verdi’s “Macbeth” and “Un Ballo in Maschera.”

Among the pieces to be performed from “Macbeth” are the prelude and “Patria Oppresa;” the pieces from “Un Ballo in Maschera” include Ulrica’s aria and diverse scenes from Act one.

The concert follows the festival’s performances of “Macbeth,” “the Requiem,” and “Ernani.” It also follows Valery Gergiev’s debut with the festival.

The Quaretetto Prometeo is made up of violinists Giulio Rovighi and Aldo Campagnari, violist Danusha Waskiewicz, and cellist Francesco Dillon.
