President Trump Renames Kennedy Center on Social Media
By Francisco SalazarCongress or not, President Donald Trump is already using his surname to refer to the Kennedy Center.
Trump took to Truth Social and called the Kennedy Center, the “TRUMP/KENNEDY CENTER.”
He said, “GREAT Nominees for the TRUMP/KENNEDY CENTER, whoops, I mean KENNEDY CENTER, AWARDS. They will be announced Wednesday. Tremendous work is being done, and money being spent, on bringing it back to the absolute TOP LEVEL of luxury, glamour, and entertainment. It had fallen on hard times, physically, BUT WILL SOON BE MAKING A MAJOR COMEBACK!!!”
The news comes as Congress proposed a bill to rename the Kennedy Center after the current president. It also proposed naming the opera house after the first Lady of the United States. However, it can not be done unless the bills have the votes in Congress.
The news also comes as CBS is reporting that Richard Grenell, the interim Executive Director, is barely at the Kennedy Center and still taking a salary. Since the hostile takeover of the Kennedy Center, Trump has been booed at a performance of “Les Misérables,” and ticket sales have decreased. The President has also proposed to revamp the center, which he claims is in bad shape.
