Plácido Domingo has been awarded the 2025 Premio Faraglioni Capri, marking its 30th anniversary.

He will be given the award on Sept. 9 at a Gala event at the Teatro del Grand Hotel Quisisana di Capri, the iconic Capri structure.  The evening will also include Juliana Grigoryan, Maestro James Vaughan, and Lina Sastri.

Il Premio Faraglioni, which is organized by the Capri Arte dei Fratelli Damino, will award Domingo for his work in music and for making it a universal language.

Aldo and Bruno Damino of Capri Arte, creators, producers, and organizers of the event, said, “Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Faraglioni Capri Award by recognizing an absolute legend like Plácido Domingo is a source of profound pride for us. This edition is destined to go down in history, renewing the bond between Capri and the great artists of our time and confirming the Award’s increasingly central role in the global cultural landscape. It also marks the beginning of a new phase, looking to the future and opening up to the world, while obviously not forgetting its roots in Capri.”

Domingo joins a list of winners that include Giuseppe Di Stefano, Carla Fracci, Bruno Vespa, Dino de Laurentis, Claudia Cardinale, Gigi Proietti, Renzo Arbore, Pippo Baudo, Lino Banfi, Giancarlo Giannini, Lucio Dalla, Riccardo Cocciante, Antonello Venditti, Massimo Ranieri, Al Bano, Francesco De Gregori, Gino Paoli, Ornella Vanoni, Andrea Bocelli, Riccardo Muti, Carlo Verdone, Alberto Sordi, Paolo Sorrentino and Nicola Piovani.
