
Brooklyn Art Song Society to Perform Cycles II
By Francisco SalazarOn Nov. 9, 2025, the Brooklyn Art Song Society will continue its 2025–26 season with the second installment of the Cycles series, a year-long journey through the most ambitious and emotionally expansive works in the art song repertoire.
The “Cycles II: Dichterliebe Reimagined” concert will pair Schumann’s “Dichterliebe” with two contemporary reflections on similar themes, including selections from Bernard Foccroulle’s “Zauberland” and Katherine Balch’s “Estrangement,” a BASS commission reprised from its 2021 premiere.”
The concert will feature such soloists as sopranos Kristina Bachrach and Lucy Fitz Gibbon, baritone Randall Scarlata, and pianists Michael Brofman, Lyndsi Maus, and Ryan McCullough.
