Pentatone has signed an exclusive contract with Polish tenor Piotr Beczala.

In a press release, the tenor noted, “I truly look forward to a new challenge and to this collaboration with PENTATONE – a company with a glorious past that now seems ready for a bright future. I look forward to working with an enthusiastic team that understands the modern age but also cherishes traditional values. This combination creates fabulous prospects for beautiful recordings. Stay tuned!”

Beczala previously had a contract with Deutsche Grammophon and recorded two solo albums. The company also released DVDs of “Lucia di Lammermoor,” “La Boheme” “Lohengrin” and “Eugene Onegin,” all of which starred Beczala.

Pentatone has made a name for itself releasing award-winning  opera recordings including the Grammy-winning “The Ghost of Versailles” and the Grammy-nominated “It’s a Wonderful Life.” It recently released a recording of “Salome” and Thomas Hampson’s latest solo CD.
