Following the shooting at a food festival in Seattle, the Seattle Opera has released a statement.

The company said, “We are heartbroken by the tragedy that occurred on Sunday, at what should have been a joyful celebration of our connection to each other through food. Our hearts are with the victims and their loved ones, and all those affected by this senseless act of violence. Today we grieve with our neighbors and community members over this terrible loss.”

On July 26, a mass shooting at the Seattle Center left three people dead and four others injured. According to Seattle Mayor’s Office, a 15-year-old suspect is in custody while another suspect is still at large. A third suspect died on the scene. The shooting occurred during a festival, Bite of Seattle, which saw an estimated 100,000 visitors daily.
