Pianist Max Lifchitz to Tribute Female Composers with ‘Women of Note’ Concert

By Logan Martell

On October 30, pianist Max Lifchitz will perform a concert of works from three generations of female composers from Europe and the Americas.

Set to take place at Marc A . Scorca Hall in the National Opera Center, this event was originally set for March 16, during Women’s History Month, before the pandemic forced it to be rescheduled.

Among the composers are Beth Anderson, Elizabeth Bell, Anne H. Goldberg, Debra Kaye, Alison Yun-Fei Jiang, Zibuokle Martinaityte, Nailah Nombeko, Niloufar Nourbaksh, Maureen Reyes, Marga Richter, Camille van Lunen, and Rain Worthington.

Lifchitz has performed as a soloist with companies such as the Albany Symphony Orchestra, the Sheboyagn Symphony, Mexo’s National Symphony Orchestra, the Neuchatel Orchestra in Switzerland, and more. He is also the director of the NYC-based North/South Chamber Orchestra.
