Former opera singer and designer Suzanne Vinnik is set to host a Nov. 15 New York City trunk show for her label byVINNIK.

The showcase, which will feature performances by tenor Clay Hilley and soprano Chelsea Lehnea, will benefit Sing for Hope. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Art on the Ave NYC Creative Space at 2 Lafayette Street in Lower Manhattan. Guests can browse a selection of byVINNIK designs and attend performances throughout the day. There will also be a raffle for a byVINNIK design with Sing for Hope receiving 100 percent of ticket and raffle proceeds to support its arts programs in schools, care settings and public spaces.

“Camille and Monica showed me that being an artist means so much more than what happens onstage,” said Vinnik, with regards to Sing for Hope co-founders Camille Zamora and Monica Yunus, per an official press release. “They taught me the importance of building community and creating opportunities to share our gifts with those who need them most.”

Vinnik founded the Los Angeles-based label in 2019 after an international operatic career that included performances at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. During nearly a decade in New York, she organized community concerts for Sing for Hope at locations including the Port Authority Bus Terminal, Lincoln Center, Central Park and the Guggenheim Pavilion. Vinnik designed the costumes for Sing for Hope’s production of Pauline García Viardot’s “Le dernier sorcier” at The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.

The event coincides with Vinnik’s 40th birthday later this month.
