Oratorio Society of New York Names Winner of Lyndon Woodside Oratorio-Solo Competition Finals Concert 2025

The Oratorio Society of New York has announced the winners of its 48th Lyndon Woodside Oratorio-Solo Competition Finals Concert.

The showcase, which took place on April 5, 2025, at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, was won by tenor Maximillian Jansen, who took home the Robert E. Ludwig Award and a corresponding $7,000 cash prize. The second place Meyerson / Zwanger Award went to Juliet Papadopoulos, who received a $5,000 prize. Third place was given to mezzo-soprano Sarah Coit; she received the Janet Plucknett Award and $3,000.

Veronica Roan was given the Watson Family Award and $2,500, while Madeline Healey got the Barber Family Award and $1,500. Fredy Bonilla was the recipient of the William Grogan Award and $1,000, and Paulina Francisco got the Robert and Winifred Connelly Green Award and a corresponding $1,000. Finally, Helaine Liebman-London was the recipient of $1,000 and the Leopold O. Damrosch Award.

The finalists were joined by pianist Amir Farid throughout the performance.

The judges for the finals included Ryan James Brandau, Lianne Coble-Dispensa, Warren Jones, Sidney Outlaw, and Kent Tritle.
