OperaVision To Stream ‘Die Fledermaus’ From Vienna State Opera on Strauss Jr.’s Birthday

OperaVision is set to stream “Die Fledermaus” from the Vienna State Opera on Oct. 25, 2019 as part of its inaugural World Opera Day celebrations.

The performance, which takes place on Johann Strauss Jr.’s birthday, will be conducted by Franz Welser-Möst with a cast including Kurt Streit, Michaela Kaune, Alfred Šramek, Zoryana Kushpler, and Rainer Trost, among others.

The stream kicks off at 8 p.m. Central European Time. That’s around 3 p.m. Eastern time and 12 p.m. Pacific time for the start time. It will be available for repeat viewings on Opera Vision until Dec. 24, 2019.

The streaming service is free through OperaVision, which, per its official website, is a project “supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, OperaVision builds on the success of The Opera Platform, with more contributing opera companies from more countries, under the editorial supervision of Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals. OperaVision brings together 30 partners from 18 countries and invites you to travel and discover the diversity of opera from wherever you want, whenever you want.”
