OperaVision Receives Major Grant from European Union

OperaVision has gained renewed support from the European Union’s “Creative Europe” program.

Through the program, the online streaming service will receive a grant of 2 million euros over three years to continue to develop its platform and reach.

OperaVision streams opera performances from around the world, partnering with 30 companies across 16 countries, including the Teatro Real de Madrid, the Palau de les Arts, La Monnaie / De Munt, the Teatr Wiekl, the Irish National Opera, the Grand Teatre del Liceu, Opera North, the New National Theatre Tokyo, the Royal Opera House, the Opéra de Lille, and the Rossini Opera Festival, among many others.

Upcoming streams include “Rigoletto” from the Gran Teatre del Liceu; “Elektra” from the Grand Théâtre de Genève; “Der Vampyr” from the Staatsoper Hannover; “Seven Deadly Sins” from Opera North; and “Parsifal” from the Hungarian State Opera.
