Opera Philadelphia to Celebrate David B. Devan

Opera Philadelphia is set to hold “Toi Toi Toi,” a fundraising event celebrating David B. Devan’s contributions to the company.

Devan, the company’s General Director and President since 2011 has announced the end of his tenure. During his time leading Opera Philadelphia, the opera company has been described as “a hotbed of operatic innovation” by the New York Times. In 2017 the the annual Festival O was launched and has featured multiple operatic performances and numerous world premieres. Of his time with Opera Philadelphia Devan says, “Leading Opera Philadelphia has been the honor of a lifetime.”

The event includes a seated dinner and performances by Will Liverman, John Holiday, Daniela Mack, Ashley Marie Robillard, and Joshua Blue. James Darrah has designed evening’s happenings and will serve as the host and emcee. “Toi, Toi, Toi” is set to take place at Philadelphia’s grand 23rd Street Armory. The proceeds raised will support Opera Philadelphia’s new works practice.
