Opera on the James to Live Stream Concert on March 15

By David Salazar

Opera on the James in Lynchburg, Virginia announced on March 14 that it would join most other companies around the world in shutting down its upcoming performances to the public to help with containing the spread of COVID-19.

However, the company did note that it planned to live stream a concert of excerpts from “The Barber of Seville” as well as other opera arias on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 4 p.m. local time.

“We believe it is important, at this very difficult time, to share the beauty and emotion that music, and opera in particular, are able to give. To join us go to our Facebook page at that time or follow this link, if you don’t have a Facebook account. We offer this livestream to the community, and to all who are interested, free of charge, and from the bottom of our hearts,” the company stated in a press release.

The performance will feature Tess Altiveros, David Margulis, Brian James Myer Steven Condy, Nathaniel Mattingly, Alissa Roca, and Bill Bodine.
