Opera Omaha to Present ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’

Opera Omaha’s new Family Opera Series is set to open with “Fantastic Mr. Fox.”

The work will be performed on June 5-8 at Lauritzen Gardens and is based on Roald Dahl’s classic children’s novel.

Starting with “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” each season Opera Omaha will produce an opera intended for audiences of all ages as part of the company’s new Family Opera Series.

These productions will take place in unique locations across the city and will feature professional performers as well as children from the Omaha community.

Conductor Gil Rose leads the production along with Director Alison Moritz. The cast includes Michael J. Hawk and Kelly Guerra as Mr. and Mrs. Fox, Tim Mix, Aaron Short, and Allen Michael Jones as the three farmers, former Holland Community Opera Fellow Jaime Marie Webb, Omaha native Brian Jeffers, as well as local artists Karina Brazas, Graham Brooks, Mary Carrick, Lauren Paul, and Jesse Wohlman.
