Opéra National de Paris Announces Slate for ‘Opéra d’été’s’ 10th Anniversary

The Opéra National de Paris has announced that to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its “Opéra d’été” series, it will showcase 46 free screenings of past productions throughout nine departments and 17 villages in France.

Here is a rundown of the operas that will be streamed this summer.

First up will be “Platée” from 2021 conducted by Marc Minkowski and directed by Laurent Pelly. The opera starred Mathias Vidal, Nahuel di Pierro, Marc Mauillon, Julie Fuchs, ad Lawrence Brownlee, among others.

Screening Dates: July 19 (Hauts-de-Seine), August 18 (Pas-de-Calais)

Next up will be the company’s 2023 production of “Le Nozze di Figaro” starring Christopher Maltman, Maria Bengtsson, Ying Fang, Lea Desandre, and Luca Pisaroni. Netia Jones directed and Gustavo Dudamel conducted.

Screening Dates: July 1 (Chennevières-sur-Marnes), July 4 (Digne-les-Bains), July 7 (Quimper), July 12 (Vesoul), July 20 (Esquibien-Audierne), July 27 (Papeete), August 7 (Cantal), August 25 (Cannes), Sept. 8 (Romorantin-Lanthenay) 

Then comes the 2021 production of “La Traviata” starring Pretty Yende Benjamin Bernheim, and Jean-François Lapointe. Simon Stone directed and Michele Mariotti conducted.

Screening Dates: July 11 (Toul), July 12 (Vesoul), July 18 (Pau), July 27 (Saint-Raphaël), August 3 (Belfort), Sept. 29 (Noumea)

Finally, the company will showcase “Les Indes Galantes” with Sabine Devielhe, Julie Fuchs, Florian Sempey, Alexandre Duhamel, and Mathias Vidal, among others. Leonardo Garcia Alarcón conducted a production by Clément Cogitore.
