By Francisco Salazar

Opera Naples has postponed some of its upcoming performances due to significant damage caused by Hurricane Ian.

The company said, “The team at Opera Naples is committed to supporting our community and continuing to provide access to the arts. We plan to make adjustments that will allow us to move forward with programming. The remaining Opera Film Series have been canceled.”

The company added that Mozart’s Masterful One-Act Comedies will be postponed while the Olé celebration of Spanish song on Nov. 4th is currently under consideration due to the company’s facility.

According to the company, the Wang Opera Center sustained significant damage from the storm. The facility experienced flooding of two to three feet of storm surge water incursion in the building.

The building is being restored and Opera Naples noted that it will keep audiences updated on the progress as it assesses the situation.
