
Opera Memphis Adds Another Performance of ‘Divas in Space’
By David SalazarOpera Memphis has added a second performance of “Divas in Space” on November 15, 2025, at the AutoZone Sharpe Planetarium.
Presented in partnership with the Museum of Science and History, the work will now get performances at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
“Divas in Space” is set aboard an interplanetary cruise ship populated by cloned versions of historic divas, and follows a band of musically ambitious space pirates as they attempt to hijack the voyage—leading to comic mayhem among the stars.
The cast features Tina O’Malley as Soprandroid, Perri DiChristina as Mezzotron, Maria Fasciano as Operamous Prime, and Keia Johnson as Cyber Songstress. The pirate crew includes Philip Himebook as Phearsome Philip and Marcus King as Monstrous Marcus.
The production is conducted by Piano-Gigatron (Jonathan King) and narrated by El Capitan (Ned Canty), with visual effects by the Lord of the Lasers (Richard Townley).
