Opera Memphis Unveils 2024-25 Season

The season opens with “30 Days of Opera,” during which the company brings opera to every zip code in Memphis.
Performance Dates: September 2024
Next up “Amadeus: The Music and the Myth,” showcasing the celebrated movie.
Performance Dates: Oct. 19, 2024
The company will the showcase “A Tell-Tale Heart & Other Tunes to Terrify.”
Performance Dates: Oct. 26 & 27, 2024
Then comes “The Rake’s Progress” in partnership with the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music.
Performance Dates: Nov. 22 & 24, 2024
The company will then present “Christmas Fiesta” in collaboration with Cazateatro and the Dixon Gallery and Gardens.
Performance Dates: Dec. 14, 2024
Then comes Bizet’s “Carmen.”
Performance Dates: Jan. 24 & 25, 2025
In time for Valentine’s Day, Opera Memphis will present “Love, Longing, and Lederhosen.”
Performance Dates: Feb. 15 & 16, 2025
“Tunes of the Emerald Isle” follows in March.
Performance Dates: March 15 & 16, 2025
“The Complete History of Opera: Part 1” takes place in April.
Performance Dates: April 26 & 27, 2025
The season comes to a close with “La Calisto.”
Performance Dates: May 21 & 23, 2025
“We approach every season as a unique opportunity to create a mix of works to invite in new audiences and delight the folks who’ve been with us for decades,” said Ned Canty, Opera Memphis’ general director, in an official press release. “This season features one of our favorite ‘bucket-list’ operas, ‘Carmen,’ matched with works by Mozart, Stravinsky, Cavalli, Poe, and many others.”
