Opera Ithaca Launches Trailer for ‘Gianni Schicchi’

Opera Ithaca has launched a trailer for its upcoming video production of “Gianni Schicchi.”

The opera will begin streaming on Oct. 9, 2020 through Cinemapolis, Ithaca’s premiere independent movie theater, at a cost of $25.

Musicians and other members of the artistic team are Ithaca locals, while the soloists are renowned opera stars from around the world. Dennis Jesse takes on the title role which Elena Galván appears as Lauretta. Daniel Bates takes on Rinuccio, Steven Stull appears as Simone, and Emily Pulley interprets Zita. Finally, Nicholas Davis makes his company debut as Betto.

The opera is conducted by Christopher Zemiliauskas with Ben Robinson, the Artistic Director of Ithaca Opera, directing the production. The work was co-directed and edited by David Kossack of PhotoSynthesis Productions.
