Opera in the Pines is set to present “The Diary of Anne Frank” on May 5 and 7 at the Maine Jewish Museum.

The 21-scene monodramatic opera will be headlined by Rachel Policar in the title role and will feature Tina Davis at the piano.

The opera will last 90 minutes and will be performed in English without intermission. There will also be a brief presentation by Professor Abraham Peck, the founding director of the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Studies program at the University of Maine at Augusta.

Opera in the Pines is a Maine-based opera company that strives to shine a spotlight on local artists. The company previously showcased “Carol in the Pines,” a series of pop-up mini concerts throughout the holiday season.
