Opera Fuoco to Release 14-Episode ‘Figaro in the City’ on Valentine’s Day

Opera Fuoco in Paris, France is set to present a unique 14-episode production of “Figaro in the City” starting on Valentine’s Day.

The showcase will be available to stream on Marquee TV and presents the legendary Mozart masterpiece in a modern production throughout the streets of Paris.

The opera is conducted by the company’s artistic director David Stern with Alexandre Camerlo directing the video production. The opera stars Olivier Gourdy as Figaro, Dania El Zein as Susanna, Matthieu Walendzik as the Count Almaviva, Cyrielle Ndjiki Nya as the Countess, Alexia Macbeth as Cherubino, Laurent Naouri as Bartolo, Anne-Lise Polchlopek as Marcellina, Julie Goussot as Barbarina, and Marco Angioloni as Basilio / Curzio among others.

The two halves of the opera (Acts one and two / Acts three and four) are structured as seasons with each half getting seven episodes with such titles as “Pre-Wedding Jitters,” “Everyone wants a piece of Susannah,” “… especially the Count,” “Cherubino can’t stay away,” “Family Feud,” “Susannah owns the Count,” “Meet the Parents. The Countess Hopes…” and “The Boys Riff on Women,” among others.
