Opera Festival Scotland Launches Young Artists Singing Competition

The Opera Festival Scotland has opened the application process for the Young Artists Singing Competition.

The competition is s set to take place in September 2021 with artists performing alongside the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and conductor John Frederick Hudson. The winner of the contest will receive an Opera Festival Scotland trophy, a lunchtime recital performance arranged by English National Opera, a masterclass with Professor Kamal Khan, and a £1500 career grant.

The jury includes International soprano Janis Kelly, Michelle Williams, Casting Director of English National Opera; Sarah-Jane Davies, Casting Director for Scottish Opera, Julia Lagahuzere, co-founder and General Director of Opera for Peace; soprano Linda Ormiston OBE; and world-renowned composer Paul Mealor.

Artists between the ages of 21-30 can apply until March 31, 2021 directly on the Opera Festival Scotland website.
