Opéra de Paris Cancels Another Performance of ‘Khovanshchina’ Due to COVID-19

Opéra de Paris has canceled its performamce of “Khovanshchina” on Feb. 6 2022.

The company noted that due to the identification of COVID-19 positive cases, the company has had to cancel the performance. The Paris Opera previously canceled the Feb. 3 presentation of the opera and was also forced to cancel its opening of “Manon” on Feb. 5 at the Opéra Bastille.

As a result, ticket holders will be able to exchange their tickets for another performance date of the opera, according to the availability, or receive a refund.

“Khovanshchina” is set to return to the stage Feb. 9 and will star Anush Hovhannisyan, Dimitry Ivashchenko, Sergei Skorokhodov, John Daszak, Evgeny Nikitin, Dmitry Belosseslkiy, Anita Rachvelishvili, Carole Wilson, and Gerhard Siegel. Hartmut Haenchen conducts the production.

The opera runs through Feb. 18 at the Opéra Bastille.
