Opéra de Paris Cancels Feb. 3 Performance of ‘Khovanshchina’

Opéra de Paris has canceled its performamce of “Khovanshchina” on Feb. 3 2022.

The company noted that due to the identification of Covid-19 positive cases, the company has had to cancel the performance. The announcement comes a day after it was forced to cancel its opening of “Manon” scheduled for Feb. 5 at the Opéra Bastille. 

As a result, ticket holders will be able to exchange for another performance date of the opera, according to the availability, or receive a refund.

“Khovanshchina” is set to return to the stage Feb. 6 and star Anush Hovhannisyan, Dimitry Ivashchenko, Sergei Skorokhodov, John Daszak, Evgeny Nikitin, Dmitry Belosseslkiy, Anita Rachvelishvili, Carole Wilson, and Gerhard Siegel. Hartmut Haenchen conducts the production.

The opera runs through Feb. 18 at the Opéra Bastille.
