
Opéra de Paris Announces Cast Change for ‘Manon’
By Francisco SalazarThe Opéra de Paris has announced a cast change for its production of Massenet’s “Manon.”
The company said that Nadine Sierra has withdrawn from the production due to illness. As a result, the role of Manon will be played by Amina Edris for all performances.
Edris performed the role of Manon for her European debut in 2019 at the Opéra National de Bordeaux. She went on to sing it at the Paris Opera in 2020. With the Paris Opera, she has also performed “Platée,” “Roméo et Juliette,” “The Exterminating Angel,” and “Faust.”
Edris will join a cast that includes Benjamin Bernheim and Roberto Alagna as Le Chevalier des Grieux, Andrzej Filończyk as Lescaut, and Nicolas Cavallier as Le Comte des Grieux. Pierre Dumoussaud conducts the production, which opens on May 26 and runs through June 20, 2025.
