Amina Edris & Pene Pati Lead Canadian Opera Company’s ‘La Bohème’

The Canadian Opera Company is set to present a production of Puccini’s “La Bohème” from Oct. 6 to 28, 2023.

The opera will be presented in a production by Tony Award winner John Caird and will be conducted by Jordan de Souza.

The opera will star real-life husband and wife, tenor Pene Pati and soprano Amina Edris in the leading roles of Rodolfo and Mimì. They will alternate with tenor Kang Wang and Jonelle Sills.

The rest of the cast will include baritone Joo Won Kang as Marcello, bass Blaise Malaba as Colline, soprano Charlotte Siegel as Musetta, baritones Justin Welsh as Schaunard, and Gregory Dahl as Benoit and Alcindoro.

Revival director Katherine M. Carter leads the revival of the production.
