Opéra de Lyon’s Le Camion-Opéra (Opera Truck) is set to run a second tour.
Following its debut with Théâtre du Point du Jour in Lyon last season, the Camion-Opéra is hitting the road again with “Le Sang du Glacier” by Claire-Mélanie Sinnhube. Angélique Clairand directs the story of a family reunited, that has been disoriented by events beyond their control in this grand narrative of climate and humanity. The production premiered in 2024.
This tour will be divided into two periods, from February to June. The first period, running from Feb. 24 through March 27, will provide an opportunity to share the opera with high school students. “Le Sang du Glacier” will be presented by several schools, in collaboration with the Academies of Lyon and Grenoble. From May 19 to June 12, Le Camion-Opéra will give performances in Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc, Chanaz, Le Puy-en-Velay, Sérézin-du-Rhône, and Clermont-Ferrand.
“Le Sang du Glacier” is performed inside of Le Camion-Opéra. The truck’s structure is composed of a stage, tiered seating, and a tent-like extension with a reception area for the public.
