Opera Colorado Announces 2025-26 Artists in Residence

By Francisco Salazar

Opera Colorado has announced the 2025–26 Artists-in-Residence.

The artists are a cohort of seven emerging opera professionals who will perform on the Ellie Caulkins Opera House stage and bring the art form to classrooms and community spaces across the state. This season’s cohort arrives as the company embarks on a new chapter under General Director & CEO Barbara Lynne Jamison and Director of Programs & Partnerships Dennis Robinson, Jr.

In a statement, Jamison said, “Our Artists in Residence embody the future of opera in Colorado. Their skill and determination reflect the next generation of artists who will keep this art form vibrant. As Opera Colorado steps into a new chapter, these artists remind us that our mission is not only to preserve tradition, but to spark imagination and invite people across our community to dream with us about what opera can be.”

Robinson Jr. added, “This is my first season at the helm of the Artist in Residence Program, and the energy these artists bring is electric. You’ll see them lighting up our mainstage and igniting creativity across the community—in schools, libraries, and unexpected local spaces throughout the state. I’m excited to see the sparks fly and proud to help drive this powerful program into its next chapter.”

The resident artists are:

  • Bridget Ravenscraft, soprano
  • Jordan McCready, mezzo-soprano
  • Daniel Miller, tenor
  • Mason O’Brien, baritone
  • Oliver Poveda Zavala, bass-baritone
  • Kevin Spooner, bass-baritone
  • John Morefield, collaborative pianist
