Opera Baltimore is set to present its annual “Avenue Block Party” on June 1, 2024.

The event, which will take place at the Shake and Bake Family Fun Center kicks off at 11 a.m. and runs through 2 p.m. local time.

In addition to live operatic performances throughout the day, including a special tribute to legendary artist and originator of the role of Bess in “Porgy and Bess” Anne Wiggins Brown, the company promises the opportunity to “groove to the beat of our talented DJ spinning lively tunes at the top of the entryway steps, setting the stage for an energetic and welcoming atmosphere. There will be a plethora of activities for children designed to spark joy and creativity. From interactive games to engaging crafts, there’s something for every child to enjoy.”

Other upcoming events at Opera Baltimore include an edition of “Thirsty Thursdays at the Opera” on May 16 and the Season Launch Party on June 4, 2024.
