OPERA America will present “Creators in Concert: Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj” on Dec. 14, 2023.

Maharaj is a multi-disciplinary artist who has directed productions at such companies as Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. A two-time Critic’s Pick by The New York Times, Maharaj has received such awards as Woodie King Jr. Award, four Audelco Awards, Barrymore Awards, SDC Theatrical Moment of the Year, and the NY Fringe Overall Excellence Award, among others.

The showcase on Dec. 14, 2023 as part of OPERA America Onstage, will showcase Maharaj presenting excerpts from “Treemonisha” at Opera Theatre Saint Louis, among other works.

Marc A. Scorca, President / CEO of OPERA America will be on hand to chat Maharaj about his career and work.

The event kicks off at 7 p.m at the National Opera Center in New York City.
