Oper Leipzig Announces 2022-23 Season

Premieres
Christoph Gedschold leads Albert Lortzing’s “Undine” directed by Tilman Köhler. The cast will star Mirjam Neururer, Olena Tokar, Joseph Dennis, Mathias Hausmann, Sejong Chang, Karin Lovelius, Sarah Traubel, Randall Jakobsh, Sven Hjörleifsson, Dan Karlström, and Peter Dolinšek.
Performance Dates: Nov. 4, 2022-July 7, 2023
Verdi’s “Otello” will star Xavier Moreno, Vladislav Sulimsky, Matthias Stier, Iulia Maria Dan, and Ulrike Schneider. Christoph Gedschold conducts Monique Wagemakers’ production.
Performance Dates: Dec. 21, 2022-March 18, 2023
Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” will be directed by Étienne Pluss and will be conducted by Jonathan Darlington. Jonathan Michie, Sebastian Pilgrim, Sarah Traubel, Josh Lovell, Kathrin Göring, Sejong Chang, Peter Dolinšek, and Samantha Gaul.
Performance Dates: Jan. 25-March 26, 2023
Yuriy Mynenko, Peter Dolinšek, Ulrike Schneider, Kathrin Göring, Olga Jelínková, Rémy Brès, Franz Xaver Schlecht, and Nora Steuerwald will star in a new production of Handel’s “Giulio Cesare.” Rubén Dubrovsky conducts the production by Damiano Michieletto.
Performance Dates: April 7-June 13, 2023
Brenden Gunnell, Solen Mainguené, Tuomas Pursio, and Karin Lovelius star in Britten’s “Peter Grimes” with Christoph Gedschold conducting Kay Link’s new production.
