Olga Peretyatko, Karin Deshayes, & Erwin Schrott Lead 2020 Rossini Opera Festival

The 41st Rossini Opera Festival has announced the full casting for its 2020 Festival.

As previously announced there will be three operas presented this year.

The 2020 season will showcase three productions, including “Moïse et Pharaon” directed by Pier Luigi Pizzi and conducted by Giacomo Sagripanti. The cast will include Roberto Tagliavini, Erwin Schrott, Olga Peretyatko, Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, Monica Bacelli, Andrew Owens, Ruzil Gatin, Nicolò Donini, and Matteo Roma.

Performance Dates: August 8-18, 2020

The second work will be “La cambiale di matrimonio,”  which will be a co-production with the Royal Opera Muscat will be conducted by Dmitry Korchak, who makes his conducting debut and directed by Laurence Dale.

The cast will star Carlo Lepore, Dilyara Idrisova, Davide Giusti, Iurii Samoilov, Alexander Utkin and Martiniana Antonie. The opera will be presented with the cantata “Giovanna d’Arco,” which will be interpreted by Marianna Pizzolato.

Performance Dates: August 9-19, 2020

The final opera that will be showcased will be “Elisabetta, regina d’Inghilterra,” directed by David Livermore. Evelino Pidò will conduct the rarely performed work in his Pesaro debut with a cast that includes Karine Deshayes, Sergey Romanovsky, Sonia Prina, Mariangela Sicilia, Barry Banks and Oscar Oré.

Performance Dates: August 10-20, 2020

The season will also include a number of recitals including Juan Diego Flórez (August 16 with Michele Spotti conducting), the buffo trio Alfonso Antoniozzi-Paolo Bordogna-Alessandro Corbelli (August 19 with Iván López Reynoso conducting), Eleonora Buratto (August 13), Maxim Mironov (August 17), and Karine Deshayes (August 21).

The festival will close with the Stabat Mater with Jader Bignamini, conducting a cast that includes Giuliana Gianfaldoni, Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, Ruzil Gatin, and Riccardo Fassi.
