
North Carolina Opera Announces 15th Anniversary Opera Gala
By David SalazarNorth Carolina Opera (NCO) has announced its 15th Anniversary Opera Gala.
The event, set to take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at The Park Alumni Center at NC State’s Centennial Campus, will honor the company’s milestone season with an evening of music, dining, and community support.
“This special anniversary gala is a chance to reflect on how far we’ve come and look forward to the future of opera in our community,” said Eric Mitchko, General Director of North Carolina Opera per an official press release. “For 15 years, our supporters have helped us create world-class opera in North Carolina, and this evening is a celebration of that legacy.”
Gala co-chairs Kay Schoellhorn and Rosemarie Sweeney will host the showcase which will feature a special performance by rising opera stars soprano Cadie J. Bryan and bass Wm. Clay Thompson. The duo will make their NC Opera mainstage debut in April 2025 as Susanna and Figaro in Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro.”
Following dinner, jazz quintet Peter Lamb and the Wolves will provide entertainment as guests enjoy an evening of dancing.
In addition to performances, the gala will include both live and silent auctions. Supporters unable to attend in person will have the opportunity to participate in the silent auction remotely or purchase raffle tickets for a luxurious overnight stay at The Umstead Hotel and Spa.
