North Carolina Opera Releases Cast Details for ‘The Barber of Seville’

North Carolina Opera has released its casting for “The Barber of Seville,” which will take place Feb. 2 and 4, 2024.

Baritone Luke Sutliff takes on the leading role of Figaro. Bass-baritone Musa Ngqungwana sings Don Basilio, with tenor David Walton as Count Almaviva, mezzo-soprano Lisa Marie Rogali as Rosina, who is joined by bass-baritone Ben Brady as her guardian, Dr. Bartolo, Lucia Bradford sings the role of Berta, and baritone Adam Dengler sings Fiorello.

The performance is directed by Francesca Zambello and conducted by Jakob Lehmann. “The Barber of Seville” will be performed in Italian with English supertitles.

The Friday evening performance is North Carolina Opera’s third annual HBCU Night at the Opera. Before this performance, Dr. Stephen Armstrong will present a pre-opera talk.
