Nicoletta Berry Headlines Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum’s ‘ghost story’

By David Salazar

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum will present “ghost story” on Feb. 23, 2025.

The six-part new song cycle by composer/lyricist Phil Kline will feature soprano Nicoletta Berry and Yarn / Wire.

“Anyone who enters Isabella’s house encounters the ghost of the woman who built it. It is the spirit which guides you through the seeming free-form landscape of the museum. These songs attempt to delve into the world of a maverick who did what she wanted, and to reveal secrets that she did her best to conceal—a tenderness underlying her determination,” Kline, who is the co-founder of the rock band the Del-Byzanteens, said in an official press release.

Berry’s upcoming projects include performances with the City Lyric Opera’s Baroque Festival and the New York Festival of Song’s “Tour de France.” She recently debuted at Carnegie Hall and also performed with the Cecilia Chorus of New York.
