Paul Appleby, Jorell Williams, Nicoletta Berry, Amanda Lynn Bottoms Headline New York Festival of Song’s 2022 Digital Slate

The New York Festival of Song has announced four digital programs as part of its NYFOS@Home Digital Series to kick off 2022.

The series will kick off with “And… We’re Back.” The showcase will feature  Paul Appleby, Amanda Lynn Bottoms, Rebecca Jo Loeb, Johnathan McCullough, and Maggie Reneé with guitarist Rupert Boyd, percussionist Leonardo Granados, and pianist and NYFOS Artistic Director Steven Blier as they take on a wide range of music spanning the likes of Schubert and Jobim.

Streaming Dates: Feb. 1 – March 1, 2022

Next up is “NYFOS Next: 9 Under 34” which will feature music from composers from NYFOS’s 1988 program including Jake Landau, Sato Matsui, Shawn Chang, Iván Enrique Rodríguez, David Clay Mettens, Emily Cooley, Tariq al-Sabir, Curtis Stewart, and Molly Joyce. Performers include baritone Gregory Feldmann. Performers include Feldmann, mezzo-soprano, and 2021 Naumburg Award winner Erin Wagner, pianists Nathaniel LaNasa and Shawn Chang, cellist Thapelo Masita, and guitarist Rupert Boyd. Streaming Dates: March 1-29, 2022

“Buenos Aires: Then and Now” will feature music by (Guastavino, Ginastera, López Buchardo, Piazzolla, among others with such performers as Nicoletta Berry, Raquel González, and others, with Steven Blier and Shawn Chang as pianists and hosts. The showcase was created in collaboration with Opera Hispánica and Jorge Parodi.

Streaming Dates: April 5 – May 3, 2022

The Spring season comes to a close with “The Wider View: Songs by Black Composers” and music by Hale Smith, Margaret Bonds, Adolphus C. Hailstork, and H. Leslie Adam, among others. Featured performers include Lucia Bradford, Jorell Williams, and pianist, and NYFOS Artistic Director Steven Blier, among others.
