On March 15, 2022, New York Festival of Song will continue its 2021-22 Mainstage Series with “Love Songs in 176 Keys: 4 hands, 4 voices, 4 countries.”

Held at the Kaufman Music Center’s Merkin Hall, this concert will feature Caramoor’s 2022 Vocal Rising Stars, including mezzo-soprano Nathalie Lewis, tenor Cesar Andres Parreno, soprano Meredith Wohlgemuth, baritone Seonjo Yu, and pianist Francisco Barfoed.

The soloists will perform love songs from Germany, Spain, France, and the United States, drawing from composers such as Brahms, Faure, Milhaud, and Gershwin, among others. Pianist Benedicte Jourdois will join Artistic Director Steven Blier as co-director and pianist for the performance.

The event will follow NYFOS’ upcoming concert “Buenos Aires, Then and Now” on February 15, and will be followed by “The Wider View: Songs by Black Composers” on April 13. Their programming is made possible by support from the Marta Heflin Foundation, the New York State Council on the Arts, Governor Kathy Hochul, the New York State Legislature, as well as public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
