The Village Trip has unveiled its 2026 season. Here are the vocal performances on offer.

First up is “Let Freedom Sing: Paul Robeson – His Words, His Music.” The showcase, set for St. Mark’s in the Bowery, will star Bass-baritone James C. Martin and pianist Lynn Ralye as they celebrate the famed singer, athlete, actor, and activist. Also on the program will be works by Erik Santos and Robert Wellington Pound as well as world premieres by David Amram, Anthony Davis, Augusta Read Thomas, and Chen Shih-hui.

Performance Date: Sept. 27, 2026

Then comes “Women’s Work” at St. John’s in the Village. The showcase features works by Liz Queler, Missy Mazzoli, Shoko Suzuki, Ann Southam, and Whitney George as performed by sopranos Sharon Harms and Curtlyn Ifill. They are joined by pianists Joan Forsyth, Adam Tendler, and Anne Lovering Rounds.

Performance Date: Sept. 29, 2026

Singer Amy Justin, Devony Smith, Maximillian Jansen, and Patrick Wilhelm headline “America Sings a Siren’s Song: Cutting Edge Concerts and the Cygnus Ensemble.” The program, set for St. Luke in the Fields, features music by Samuel Adler, Victoria Bond, Dina Koston, and Nehemiah Luckett. The vocalists are joined by the Cygnus Ensemble.

Performance Date: Oct. 1, 2026

“Village Voices,” set for St. John’s in the Village, will feature sopranos Sharon Harms and Curtlyn Ifill in music by Scott Wheeler, Ella Milch-Sheriff, Akemi Naito, and Kile Smith, among others. They are joined by an ensemble of musicians including Oren Fader, William Anderson, Emily John, and Joan Forsyth, among others.
