New Philharmonic to Open 2025-26 Season with ‘Carmina Burana’

The New Philharmonic is set to open its 2025-26 season with “Carmina Burana.”

“Carmina Burana,” which takes the stage on Oct. 4 and 5, 2025 at 7the McAninch Arts Center in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, will star Emily Birsan, Richard Ollarsaba, and Thomas Aláan.

“This season represents our boldest and most inspirational season yet,” said New Philharmonic Music Director and Conductor Kirk Muspratt, per an official press release. “Beginning with Orff’s stupendous ‘Carmina Burana,’ showcasing three acclaimed guest vocalists and the 80-voice Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra (NISO) Chorus, under the direction of Thomas McNichols, our audiences will experience a most captivating and fascinating concert season.”

The performance will also feature Borodin’s “Polovtsian Dances.”

The Oct. 4 performance will kick off at 7:30 while the Oct. 5 showcase is set to start at 3 p.m. local time.
