New Camerata Opera Announces Date Change for ‘Peter Rabbit’

By Francisco Salazar

New York’s New Camerata Opera has announced a date change for its second production of the season.

Originally scheduled for Oct. 16, 2021, “Peter Rabbit” will now be performed on Oct. 23, 2021. The show will be performed at the Edgemere Farm in Queens, New York.

“Peter Rabbit” will run for roughly 30 minutes with a brief question and answer session after the performance.

The work features the titular character as he “runs afoul of the gardener Macgregor” and uses passages from Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’Amore” with appearances by Momma Rabbit and the non-singing roles of Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail.

The show, which is presented as part of the company’s Camerata Piccola program, is free and open to the public.

This is the second production of New Camerata’s 2021-22 season following its production of “Cav + Pag.”
