New Camerata Opera Announces 2nd Production of 2021

By David Salazar

New Camerata Opera is set to present “Peter Rabbit” on Oct. 16, 2021.

The showcase will take place at the Edgemere Farm in Queens, N.Y. and will run roughly for 30 minutes. After the performance, audiences will get a brief question and answer sessions.

The work features the titular character as he “runs afoul of the gardener Macgregor” and uses passages from Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’Amore” with appearances by Momma Rabbit and the non-singing roles of Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail.

The show, which is presented as part of the company’s Camerata Piccola program, is free and open to the public.

This is the second production of New Camerata’s 2021-22 season following its opening showcase of “Cav + Pag” at the end of September 2021.
